Darling Downs Power Station

The Darling Downs Power Station is situated 40km west of Dalby. It is owned by Origin Energy and construction is undertaken by the Darling Downs Construction Joint Venture. CH2M Hill and Laing O’Rourke are responsible for the construction aspect of the joint venture using GE equipment.

Multifix Construction was successful in an open tender on the initial packages which later became a sole source negotiation for all major plant and equipment foundations. Once complete the Station will output 630 megawatts of power utilizing Coal Seam Gas Technology. It is the biggest Combined Cycle Station in Australia and will power the equivalent of 400,000 homes.
